Preferred Subjects:Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Spanish, English (Writing), SAT, and SAT Math
Experience:I have experience tutoring students in a wide range of age groups and from a wide range of backgrounds. In high school, I volunteered at a local elementary school (in Marietta, Georgia) tutoring first, second, and fourth graders in math. I also tutored my peer high school students in Spanish, Chemistry, and Algebra. Meanwhile, I privately tutored a nine-year-old girl in basic Hebrew reading skills. This summer, I worked as a TA at the Shaw Beacon summer camp, helping rising third and fourth grade students with basic writing skills and teaching newspaper writing to rising third, fourth, and fifth grade students.

I achieved a 2310 on my SAT I: 780 writing, 780 math, and 750 verbal. I received 4s and 5s on AP Spanish Literature, AP English Literature, AP English Language, AP United States Government and Politics, AP Calculus BC, AP United States History, AP Chemistry, AP World History, and AP Human Geography. I also received a 780 on my SAT II: Chemistry and a 750 on my SAT II: United States History.

I plan to major in English with a concentration in creative writing. I write for The Daily Pennsylvanian, the University of Pennsylvania's independent, student newspaper, and this summer, I was a news editor for The Summer Pennsylvanian, a weekly version of the DP. However, I also am good at and enjoy algebra-based math. My first semester at Penn, I received an A in Calculus I. I also recently completed sixth semester Spanish at Penn and will probably end up with a minor in Hispanic Studies.

I am a patient tutor, ready and willing to explain a concept a third way if the first and second didn't quite click with the student. I love working with kids of all ages, and my primary goal for every student I work with is to help him or her succeed.
Hobbies:I enjoy reading, writing, singing, and playing tennis, although I don't play for Penn.
